_ Traditional Midwifery is a dying system of knowledge. Replaced with a biomedical approach to childbirth, traditional midwifery has almost been eradicated. We are committed to preserving traditional midwifery knowledge and valuing its importance as culturally specific approaches to women’s health care.

Mamma Primitiva is a Traditional Midwifery Education Program run by our director of Midwifery, Clare Loprinzi. Through video, podcasts and downloads, classes are offered online for students to access wherever they may be.
